Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work The Artist'S Home, Puncak by Lee Man Fong. The price achieved of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 56,300.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 420,000.00 – 550,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Man Fong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bali Life in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 33,720,000.00 (€ 3,471,572.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Artist'S Home, Puncak von Lee Man Fong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 56.300,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 420.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Man Fong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bali Life im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 33.720.000,00 (€ 3.471.572,23).
