Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Léon Bakst could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Russian Pictures auction, the work Costume Design For Three Women Dancing A Polonaise In Boris Godunov changed hands for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,394.64) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon Bakst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Dancer In Costume in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 624,000.00 (€ 926,659.53).
