Artwork auctioned at ten times the upper estimate price
When the work Jinggang Mountains by Li Keran was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2013, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 8,000,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than ten times as high at HKD 84,120,000.00 (€ 7,975,510.80). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Li Keran; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Magnificent Mountains With Gushy Cascades sold at auction in October 2017 with the realized price of HKD 122,162,500.00 (€ 13,445,426.25).
Kunstwerk zum Zehnfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Jinggang Mountains von Li Keran im November 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 8.000.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 84.120.000,00 (€ 7.975.510,80) mehr als zehnmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Li Keran; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Magnificent Mountains With Gushy Cascades im Oktober 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 122.162.500,00 (€ 13.445.426,25).
