Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Rooster and Wisteria by Lin Fengmian. The price achieved of HKD 1,512,000.00 (€ 174,955.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,200,000.00 – 2,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lin Fengmian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work FISHING VILLAGE in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 39,740,000.00 (€ 4,842,584.61).
