This price was achieved in the auction Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 12,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Haisu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Huangshan Mountain, Peach Blossom Peak in September 2018 with an auction result of HKD 4,720,000.00 (€ 519,435.55).
