Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Christies in Cologne held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Spring Rain in Mount Huang by Liu Haisu. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 693,000.00 (€ 83,063.73), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Liu Haisu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Huangshan Mountain, Peach Blossom Peak in September 2018 with an auction result of HKD 4,720,000.00 (€ 519,435.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Köln die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spring Rain in Mount Huang von Liu Haisu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 83.063,73) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Haisu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Huangshan Mountain, Peach Blossom Peak im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.720.000,00 (€ 519.435,55).
