Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Cat and Bamboo by Liu Jiyou. The price achieved of HKD 18,750 (€ 2,049) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as HKD 15,000 - 25,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Jiyou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work in April 2011 with an auction result of HKD 2,180,000 (€ 189,450).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cat and Bamboo von Liu Jiyou zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 18.750 (€ 2.049) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 15.000 – 25.000 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Jiyou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit im April 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.180.000 (€ 189.450).
