It achieved a price of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 73,549.53), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. Admittedly, works by Liu Kuiling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Squirrels; Foxes; Rabbits; Cats in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 5,575,000.00 (€ 610,816.21).

Die Arbeit Rooster By The Poenies von Liu Kuiling kam im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 73.549,53) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 25%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Kuiling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Squirrels; Foxes; Rabbits; Cats im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.575.000,00 (€ 610.816,21).
