Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Beluga Whales, 1968 by Lord Snowdon was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 689.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lord Snowdon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work David Hockney, 1963 in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,959.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Beluga Whales, 1968 von Lord Snowdon kam im September 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 689,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lord Snowdon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit David Hockney, 1963 im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 8.959,13).
