Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Partie De Piquet by Louis-Léopold Boilly was sold in the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,019.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis-Léopold Boilly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A trompe l'oeil of an ivory and wood crucifix in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 823,500.00 (€ 755,851.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La Partie De Piquet von Louis-Léopold Boilly wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.019,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis-Léopold Boilly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A trompe l'oeil of an ivory and wood crucifix im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 823.500,00 (€ 755.851,31).
