This price was achieved in the auction Modern British and Irish Art at Bonhams and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Louis Wain; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Come Birdie Come and Live with Me sold at auction in November this year with the realized price of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 44,497.25).
