Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Early armchair, model no. MR20 by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was auctioned at Phillips in New York in December 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 9,000.00 (€ 6,819.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rare and important early "Barcelona" chair in December 2006 with an auction result of USD 100,800.00 (€ 76,381.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Early armchair, model no. MR20 von Ludwig Mies van der Rohe kam im Dezember 2006 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 9.000,00 (€ 6.819,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ludwig Mies van der Rohe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rare and important early "Barcelona" chair im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 76.381,00).
