In November 2014 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Man Ray, which included the work Henry Miller, 1945 Henry Miller (Avec Man Ray, Juliet Chez Henry Miller, Partington Ridge, Big Sur), 1945 by Man Ray. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 15,000.00 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen

Im November 2014 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Man Ray durch, in der auch die Arbeit Henry Miller, 1945 Henry Miller (Avec Man Ray, Juliet Chez Henry Miller, Partington Ridge, Big Sur), 1945 von Man Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 15.000,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
