Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Man Ray could be acquired at Sothebys in Paris in November 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Man Ray auction, the work Kiki De Montparnasse, Ca. 1929 changed hands for EUR 10,625.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Man Ray konnte im November 2014 bei Sothebys in Paris für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Man Ray wechselte die Arbeit Kiki De Montparnasse, Ca. 1929 für EUR 10.625,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
