In March 2021 Christies in Paris held the auction Man Ray et les surréalistes. Collection Lucien et Edmonde Treillard, which included the work Marcel Duchamp, 1919 by Man Ray. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 13,750.00 72% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).

Im März 2021 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Man Ray et les surréalistes. Collection Lucien et Edmonde Treillard durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marcel Duchamp, 1919 von Man Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 13.750,00 und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
