Auction result well in line with expectations

In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Marc Chagall, Colour of Life:Works Formerly from the Artist's Estate (Part II), which included the work Couple au clair de lune by Marc Chagall. The price achieved of HKD 6,174,000.00 (€ 739,864.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 4,800,000.00 – 6,800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Chagall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Marc Chagall, Colour of Life:Works Formerly from the Artist's Estate (Part II) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Couple au clair de lune von Marc Chagall zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 6.174.000,00 (€ 739.864,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 4.800.000,00 – 6.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Chagall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Amoureux im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.453.000,00 (€ 23.914.103,21).
