The work Grand bouquet de lilas devant la fenêtre by Marc Chagall was sold in the Marc Chagall, Colour of Life:Works Formerly from the Artist's Estate (Part II) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 4,410,000.00 (€ 528,474.48), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Chagall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Amoureux in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 28,453,000.00 (€ 23,914,103.21).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen

Die Arbeit Grand bouquet de lilas devant la fenêtre von Marc Chagall wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Marc Chagall, Colour of Life:Works Formerly from the Artist's Estate (Part II) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 4.410.000,00 (€ 528.474,48) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Chagall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Amoureux im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.453.000,00 (€ 23.914.103,21).
