Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Quatre Inédits De Marcel Duchamp. Alès (Gard): P A B, 1960 by Marcel Duchamp was sold in the Dada Data: Books and Boîtes by Marcel Duchamp and Others auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,687.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Duchamp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Belle haleine - Eau de voilette in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 8,913,000.00.

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Quatre Inédits De Marcel Duchamp. Alès (Gard): P A B, 1960 von Marcel Duchamp wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion Dada Data: Books and Boîtes by Marcel Duchamp and Others bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.016,00 (€ 1.687,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcel Duchamp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Belle haleine - Eau de voilette im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.913.000,00.
