Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nu couché blond by Marcel Gromaire was sold in the Collection de Monsieur & Madame Robert Schmit | Œuvres choisies – Session I auction at Sothebys in Paris in December last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 60,000 - 80,000, the actual price achieved of EUR 63,000 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marcel Gromaire - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L'Après-Midi D'Été, which sold at auction in June 2011 for EUR 204,750.
