Auction result well in line with expectations

In June last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Marcos Grigorian UnearthedWorks from the Artist's Estate, which included the work Urartu by Marcos Grigorian. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,262.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcos Grigorian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Horizontal & Vertical Earthwork each panel 188 x 188 cm in June last year with an auction result of USD 315,375.00 (€ 301,246.54).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Marcos Grigorian UnearthedWorks from the Artist's Estate durch, in der auch die Arbeit Urartu von Marcos Grigorian zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.262,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcos Grigorian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Horizontal & Vertical Earthwork each panel 188 x 188 cm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 315.375,00 (€ 301.246,54).
