Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Christ carrying the Cross supported by Simon of Cyrene, with Saint Veronica holding the shroud by Maerten de Vos for USD 1,250.00 (€ 863.98). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maerten de Vos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Gathering of Manna in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 100,150.00 (€ 159,743.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Christ carrying the Cross supported by Simon of Cyrene, with Saint Veronica holding the shroud von Maerten de Vos für USD 1.250,00 (€ 863,98) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maerten de Vos erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Gathering of Manna im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 100.150,00 (€ 159.743,13).
