Auction result well in line with expectations

In December this year Bonhams in London held the auction City LightsThe Martin Lewis Sale, which included the work Shadow Magic by Martin Lewis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,560.00 (€ 2,949.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Snowstorm, Danbury, Connecticut and Study for 'Snowstorm, Danbury, Connecticut': A Pair of Works in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 47,276.85).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion City LightsThe Martin Lewis Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shadow Magic von Martin Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.560,00 (€ 2.949,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Lewis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Snowstorm, Danbury, Connecticut and Study for 'Snowstorm, Danbury, Connecticut': A Pair of Works im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 47.276,85).
