This artwork by Marwan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in October 2011. In the Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish ArtPart I auction, the work Marionette sold for USD 152,500.00 (€ 109,342.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marwan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kopf., which sold at auction in June 2015 for EUR 262,500.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Marwan erzielte im Oktober 2011 bei Christies in Dubai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish ArtPart I wurde die Arbeit Marionette für USD 152.500,00 (€ 109.342,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marwan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kopf. beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für EUR 262.500,00 versteigert wurde.
