It achieved a price of EUR 8,750.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurits Cornelis Escher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reptiles (Bool 327) in April last year with an auction result of USD 756,000.00 (€ 717,471.77).

Die Arbeit Order And Chaos I (B. 366) von Maurits Cornelis Escher wurde im Dezember 2013 in der Auktion Modern Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 8.750,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurits Cornelis Escher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reptiles (Bool 327) im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 756.000,00 (€ 717.471,77).
