In the Maritime auction, the work Distant Sails sold for USD 19,120.00 (€ 15,532.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mauritz Frederick Hendrick de Haas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Coastal Scene with Sailboat, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 72,000.00 (€ 53,519.66).
