Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Maynard Dixon could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Portrait of the WestThe Diane and Sam Stewart Collection auction, the work Navajos in a Canyon changed hands for USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,161.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maynard Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pony Boy in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 1,326,000.00 (€ 1,562,573.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maynard Dixon konnte im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Portrait of the WestThe Diane and Sam Stewart Collection wechselte die Arbeit Navajos in a Canyon für USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.161,02) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maynard Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pony Boy im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.326.000,00 (€ 1.562.573,65).
