This artwork by Michel Jean Cazabon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2015. In the Topographical Pictures auction, the work View of Trinity Church from Laventille Hill, Port of Spain, Trinidad sold for GBP 50,000.00 (€ 69,937.51) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michel Jean Cazabon; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Saint-Pierre, Martinique sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of GBP 118,750.00 (€ 137,741.48).
