Auction result well in line with expectations

The work An Allegory of Winter by Michiel Sweerts was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2005. The price achieved of GBP 209,600.00 (€ 304,222.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 180,000.00 – 220,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michiel Sweerts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Artist’s Studio with a Seamstress in July this year with an auction result of GBP 12,615,000.00 (€ 14,717,881.58).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit An Allegory of Winter von Michiel Sweerts kam im Dezember 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 209.600,00 (€ 304.222,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 180.000,00 – 220.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michiel Sweerts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Artist’s Studio with a Seamstress im Juli diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.615.000,00 (€ 14.717.881,58).
