Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Mother and Child by Milton Avery for USD 60,000.00 (€ 55,912.78). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Milton Avery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Letter in May last year with an auction result of USD 6,069,500.00 (€ 5,656,043.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mother and Child von Milton Avery für USD 60.000,00 (€ 55.912,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Milton Avery erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Letter im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.069.500,00 (€ 5.656.043,24).
