Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nymphes Et Cupidon by Narcisse Virgile Diaz de la Peña was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,512.66). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Narcisse Virgile Diaz de la Peña achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Old Windmill near Barbizon in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 176,227.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Nymphes Et Cupidon von Narcisse Virgile Diaz de la Peña im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.512,66) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Narcisse Virgile Diaz de la Peña erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Old Windmill near Barbizon im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 176.227,08).
