Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Raft of Odysseus (Neptune Battles with Odysseus) by Newell Convers Wyeth was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2016. The price achieved of USD 425,000.00 (€ 381,679.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Newell Convers Wyeth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Hands Up!" in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,951,500.00 (€ 4,680,941.58).
