Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'White and heavenly', from the series 'His Country' by Nicholas Roerich was sold in the Russian Art auction at Christies in London in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 542,500.00 (€ 764,918.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicholas Roerich - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Himself Came, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 1,756,500.00 (€ 2,459,554.43).
