Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Le Menuet by Nicolas Lancret was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 197,000.00 (€ 280,597.24). Admittedly, works by Nicolas Lancret have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Winter in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,655,000.00 (€ 2,174,269.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Le Menuet von Nicolas Lancret im November 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 197.000,00 (€ 280.597,24) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolas Lancret auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Winter im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.655.000,00 (€ 2.174.269,10).
