Psychedelic neon colors are the hallmark of Tselkov’s paintings, increasingly so as his painting style matured. Fittingly perhaps for the vibrant palette he came to be known for, his first solo show took place at the Kurchatov Institute of Atomic Energy. It was shut down by the authorities after two days for being socially unacceptable. Tselkov emigrated to France in 1977.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Oleg Tselkov could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Escape Artists: The Non-Conformists Online auction, the work Still Life With Wine Glass changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,088.60) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oleg Tselkov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boy with Balloons in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 571,600.00 (€ 681,798.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Oleg Tselkov konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Escape Artists: The Non-Conformists Online wechselte die Arbeit Still Life With Wine Glass für USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.088,60) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oleg Tselkov erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boy with Balloons im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 571.600,00 (€ 681.798,90).
