Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sarajevo by Omar El-Nagdi was auctioned at Christies in Dubai in March 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,450.00 (€ 10,052.68). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Omar El-Nagdi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Grand Cavalier in November this year with an auction result of GBP 216,300.00 (€ 250,644.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sarajevo von Omar El-Nagdi im März 2016 bei Christies in Dubai versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 11.450,00 (€ 10.052,68) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Omar El-Nagdi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Grand Cavalier im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 216.300,00 (€ 250.644,66).
