Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A shepherd with his flock by Otto Strützel was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,434.00. Admittedly, works by Otto Strützel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Der Königssee in May 2002 with an auction result of EUR 5,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A shepherd with his flock von Otto Strützel im Dezember 2003 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.434,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Otto Strützel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Der Königssee im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.750,00.
