Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Eighteen Gold Medallions by Pablo Picasso was sold in the Picasso Through the Eyes of a Connoisseur auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 317,000.00 (€ 254,864.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pablo Picasso achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 179,365,000.00 (€ 163,148,080.77).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Eighteen Gold Medallions von Pablo Picasso wurde im November 2014 in der Auktion Picasso Through the Eyes of a Connoisseur bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 317.000,00 (€ 254.864,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pablo Picasso erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les femmes d'Alger (Version 'O') im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 179.365.000,00 (€ 163.148.080,77).
