Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ophelia by Pascal Adolphe Jean Dagnan-Bouveret was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,900.00 (€ 26,549.66). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pascal Adolphe Jean Dagnan-Bouveret achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French The Duet in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 307,584.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ophelia von Pascal Adolphe Jean Dagnan-Bouveret im April 2002 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 23.900,00 (€ 26.549,66) den Besitzer.
