Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Extensive Landscape With Scenes From The Historiae Aethiopica by Paul Bril was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 218,500.00 (€ 159,314.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Bril have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 857,602.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An Extensive Landscape With Scenes From The Historiae Aethiopica von Paul Bril wurde im Januar 2011 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 218.500,00 (€ 159.314,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Bril auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 713.250,00 (€ 857.602,76).
