This artwork by Paul Bril achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in December 2012. In the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work Saint Jerome praying in a rocky landscape sold for GBP 505,250.00 (€ 623,113.57) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 250,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Paul Bril; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot An Extensive Landscape With Tobit, Tobias And The Archangel Raphael sold at auction in July 2010 with the realized price of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 857,602.76).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Bril erzielte im Dezember 2012 bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
