Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four head studies of a lady, traditionally identified as Mrs Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney by Paul César Helleu was sold in the British and European Art auction at Christies in London in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,811.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul César Helleu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Madame Helleu À L'Ombrelle in June 2014 with an auction result of EUR 793,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Four head studies of a lady, traditionally identified as Mrs Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney von Paul César Helleu wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion British and European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.811,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul César Helleu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait De Madame Helleu À L'Ombrelle im Juni 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 793.500,00.
