Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Into Africa: Photographs by Peter Beard, which included the work Giraffes In Mirage On The Taru Desert, Kenya, 1960 by Peter Beard. It changed hands for a price of USD 87,500.00 (€ 64,366.63) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Beard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Into Africa: Photographs by Peter Beard durch, in der auch die Arbeit Giraffes In Mirage On The Taru Desert, Kenya, 1960 von Peter Beard zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 64.366,63) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Beard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 672.500,00 (€ 577.352,34).
