Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Self-Portrait by Peter Howson for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,890.14). This price was achieved in the auction Scottish & Sporting Pictures at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Howson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Three Faces Of Eve, A Triptych in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 300,500.00 (€ 382,249.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Peter Howson für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.890,14) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Scottish & Sporting Pictures bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Howson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Three Faces Of Eve, A Triptych im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 300.500,00 (€ 382.249,13).
