Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Philip Alexius de László achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2015. In the European Noble & Private Collections auction, the work Portrait of Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain (1887-1969), half-length, wearing a plain sleeveless black gown, the Order of Queen María Luisa on a purple and white ribbon pinned to her dress, holding a fan in her right hand sold for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 44,629.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip Alexius de László have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mrs Adrian van Montagu, née Anne Mabel Olivia Trouton in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 325,017.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Philip Alexius de László erzielte im April 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Noble & Private Collections wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Queen Victoria Eugenia of Spain (1887-1969), half-length, wearing a plain sleeveless black gown, the Order of Queen María Luisa on a purple and white ribbon pinned to her dress, holding a fan in her right hand für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 44.629,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Alexius de László auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mrs Adrian van Montagu, née Anne Mabel Olivia Trouton im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 275.000,00 (€ 325.017,81).
