In December 2001 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work The bleaching fields near Haarlem with sportsmen in the foreground, a view of St. Bavo's beyond by Philips Koninck. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 135,750.00 (€ 221,796.68), 70% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Philips Koninck; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A woodland landscape with a cottage and figures sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of USD 262,500.00 (€ 235,320.48).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen

Im Dezember 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The bleaching fields near Haarlem with sportsmen in the foreground, a view of St. Bavo's beyond von Philips Koninck zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 135.750,00 (€ 221.796,68) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Philips Koninck; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A woodland landscape with a cottage and figures im Oktober 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 262.500,00 (€ 235.320,48).
