Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2009 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours Evening Sale, which included the work A hawking party resting by a fountain by Philips Wouwerman. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 361,250.00 (€ 407,502.70), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philips Wouwerman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The departure of a hunting party, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 1,217,250.00 (€ 1,463,605.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A hawking party resting by a fountain von Philips Wouwerman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 361.250,00 (€ 407.502,70) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Philips Wouwerman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The departure of a hunting party beobachtet, die im Juli 2010 für GBP 1.217.250,00 (€ 1.463.605,98) versteigert wurde.
