In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work St. George'S Kermis With The Dance Around The Maypole by Peter Brueghel II. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,940,000.00 (€ 1,748,850.63), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Brueghel II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Battle between Carnival and Lent in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,873,250.00 (€ 8,231,687.76).

Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit St. George'S Kermis With The Dance Around The Maypole von Peter Brueghel II zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.940.000,00 (€ 1.748.850,63) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Brueghel II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Battle between Carnival and Lent im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.873.250,00 (€ 8.231.687,76).
