Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The bay of Naples by Pietro Barucci was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2000. The price achieved of USD 9,400.00 (€ 11,077.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pietro Barucci - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Traghetto sul lago, which sold at auction in December 2001 for ITL 29,400,000.00 (€ 26,424.00).
