This artwork by Qi Gong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2020. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 17,544.78) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Qi Gong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 5,375,000.00 (€ 568,179.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Qi Gong erzielte im November 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 17.544,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 90.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Qi Gong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Standard Script im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.375.000,00 (€ 568.179,02).
