Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spanish Aline Con Flores (Aline With Flowers) by Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works auction at Sothebys in London in November 2009. The price achieved of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 67,030.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Raimundo de Madrazo y Garreta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pierrette in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 281,000.00 (€ 331,133.63).
